Our whole life is waiting, yet expecting so often denigrates into deferring, distracting, denying.
Temporary Home
Stretched tent, home staked and straining from its rings, weave warped by jerking wind, gusts of drenching rain, double shelter we prop up to wrap ourselves with, cover half pulled over from the other to cocoon with. Until the canvas shifts in separateness, threads hoarded against common purpose. The fabric rent to scraps and patchworked to solitary purpose, dome-icile inverted to trampoline, ...
Wind
The wind like waves rushes in and softly pulls back, a flux of purpose. Offense/ defense, dance of opposites, a parlay, a wooing, a tease: what final encroaching, long presaged, is waiting.
The Future
Promise days of spacious ecstacy, continuous new moons. Forms sketched in pencil, traced and torn up, redrawn. Worry we squander peering the wide bottom of an hourglass, veiled with a single inscrutable layer of sand. Nights fall and grow cold, we huddle under the closing eyelid of each final day.
Unquiet Peace
The brittle quiet after war, the sudden disconcerting by ceding of opposition. Unsated brooding bears new grievance, fresh strife.

Bob's Death
My dad’s cousin Bob S passed away yesterday. His last lucid moment was a vision of my grandmother Viola waiting for him—he really smiled to see her. When prompted he said he also saw my grandfather and Paul, a nephew who died of aneurysm age 40 some 18 months before.
